Synopsis
This tutorial will show you how to download and generate TV listings compatible with the homebrew application PPG. This application was coded by Seb and Cladil and is very useful over the holiday period. I would imagine the instructions would work for other countries, but I have not attempted to do this, but would be interested to know the results of any investigation into this.

Requirements

This tutorial requires a PSP with custom firmware and access to the internet. The application links and supporting files can be found in the links section at the bottom of this article.

Tutorial

PPG is a TV guide for the PSP that uses the XMLTV format to generate listings. The original program was developed as homebrew software and is a first class example of what can be achieved by the unsung bedroom programmer (Pay attention Sony).

Instructions for PPG v0.22

The first thing to do is download the utility from your favourite psp homebrew source Google PSP PPG or download directly via my site download

Now a couple of things are necessary so pay attention

1. Extract the above archive file
2. Inside the PPG022 folder amend the configuration file (PPG.CFG) to point to the UK listings I have generated
   
   RepositoryURL = http://agilemonkey.co.uk/psp
   RepositoryPRGList = freebox
   
   *Window users use notepad rather than wordpad etc to ensure unnecessary characters are not added to the file UK Images are available via the links below, these are a wip so please be patient
3. Load the homebrew into the game folder on your custom firmware PSP
4. When you initially run the application it will download the current listings file

Optional: Hack the homebrew binary to replace French text with English using a hex editor
